From Siberian Extreme Cold to “Zero-Defect” Delivery | BAOYI Group’s High-End Safety Valves Successfully Applied in a Major Russian Natural Gas Project, Demonstrating the Strength of Domestic Substitution
Project Overview
Recently, BAOYI Group Co., Ltd. announced that its supply of safety valves for Phase IV of a major Russian natural gas project has successfully completed engineering application verification. The batch of safety valves was officially put into operation in August 2025 and has been running stably since then, demonstrating the reliable performance of domestically produced high-end safety valves under extreme working conditions, and fully reflecting BAOYI Group’s comprehensive capability to substitute European and American counterparts in the high-end valve sector.

Operating Challenges
In October 2022, BAOYI Group officially undertook the safety valve supply task for this project. The project site presented extremely harsh conditions, including extreme low temperatures, high-pressure operation, dramatic fluctuations in temperature and humidity, industrially corrosive environments, and complex transportation routes. To address these challenges, BAOYI Group carried out systematic technical research and development across product design, material selection, working condition simulation, transport adaptability, corrosion protection, and installation support, ensuring that the safety valves met project requirements for set pressure stability, opening precision, sealing performance, and long-term operational reliability.

Design Verification
For design verification, BAOYI Group conducted hundreds of repeated tests simulating the extreme conditions specified in the technical requirements. They successfully recreated a combined environment of -52°C low temperature and 9.8 MPa high pressure, thoroughly verifying the valves’ opening precision and reseating sealing under extreme temperatures. Additionally, the project’s valves used austenitic stainless steel materials certified by low-temperature impact testing, effectively preventing brittleness in extreme cold and providing a solid foundation for long-term stable operation.
Environmental Adaptability Verification
To verify environmental adaptability, BAOYI Group conducted targeted tests based on the project’s transportation and on-site conditions. By introducing a “wave-drop road” simulated transport test, they realistically reproduced dynamic impacts from complex road conditions, proactively identifying and mitigating potential stress from transportation vibrations. Simultaneously, the team simulated large day-night temperature differences and condensation environments on-site, focusing on verifying the valves’ sealing stability and mechanical reliability under alternating hot and cold conditions, ensuring the highest possible product quality and achieving “zero-defect” delivery.
Corrosion Protection and Weather Resistance Verification
Regarding corrosion protection and weather resistance, BAOYI Group conducted multiple simulation tests, including salt spray, condensation, and wet-heat cycles, to evaluate the corrosion resistance of valve stainless steel components under the complex Siberian conditions of high humidity in summer, dry cold in winter, and industrial atmospheric sulfides. The verification results confirmed that the valves maintain long-term anti-corrosion performance in harsh climates and industrial pollution environments, meeting long-term operational requirements.
On-Site Support and Comprehensive Value
In addition, to support project testing and on-site installation, BAOYI Group custom-designed specialized test fixtures for the Russian site, ensuring uniform stress distribution during testing and installation, fundamentally safeguarding long-term stability of set pressure. This approach not only improved on-site work efficiency but also enhanced the valves’ lifecycle reliability.
Industry experts note that Phase IV of this natural gas project demands extremely high standards for safety valves in terms of low temperature, high pressure, sealing, corrosion resistance, and installation stability. BAOYI Group’s ability to achieve stable supply and smooth commissioning in such a complex international project demonstrates that its capabilities in high-end safety valve design, manufacturing, testing, and engineering services are on par with leading international brands.

Future Positioning
As a major domestic valve manufacturer, BAOYI Group has long focused on high-end valve R&D and systematic solution delivery, continuously advancing technological innovation, quality upgrades, and engineering application verification. The successful implementation of Phase IV of this Russian natural gas project not only highlights BAOYI Group’s international project service capability but also provides valuable experience and a benchmark case for further expanding the application of domestic high-end safety valves and accelerating substitution of European and American products in global energy projects.
BAOYI Group stated that it will continue to adhere to the development philosophy of “providing more reliable and advanced systematic solutions for the global valve application industry,” continuously improving product performance under extreme conditions, complex environments, and major engineering projects, and delivering more reliable products and comprehensive technical services to create higher value for global energy, chemical, and industrial clients.
